The ThriveNeighbor Entrepreneur Scholarship aims to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs by awarding scholarships to applicants who build a side hustle using the ThriveNeighbor platform. A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be distributed as follows:
1 Grand Prize Winner: $5,000
5 Additional Winners: $1,000 each
Eligibility
To apply for the ThriveNeighbor Entrepreneur Scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be legal residents of the United States.
Note: International students are not eligible to apply.Be currently enrolled in high school, trade or vocational school, undergraduate, or graduate programs in the U.S.
If under 18, applicants must have a parent or legal guardian create their ThriveNeighbor account and sign the consent form on their behalf.
Employees of ThriveNeighbor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and family members are not eligible.
Scholarship Requirements
Applicants must complete the following steps to be eligible for the ThriveNeighbor Entrepreneur Scholarship:
Sign up for a free 7-day trial of ThriveNeighbor.
Select a service to offer on ThriveNeighbor (We provide examples).
Build a website using ThriveNeighbor’s templates based on the selected service.
Note: Publishing the website is not required for eligibility.Answer the scholarship questions in the dedicated scholarship section within the ThriveNeighbor portal.
Important: All tasks can be completed in under 30 minutes. No purchase is necessary.
Scholarship Application Portal Access
Even if applicants cancel their free trial, they will retain access to their scholarship application through the ThriveNeighbor portal at any time.
Scholarship Awards
$5,000 Grand Prize: One applicant will receive $5,000 for showing exceptional creativity, initiative, and potential impact in building their side hustle on ThriveNeighbor.
$1,000 Scholarships: Five applicants will each win $1,000 for completing all required steps.
Scholarship funds are designated exclusively for tuition and will be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution. Funds cannot be used for room and board, books, or other expenses. Scholarships will be disbursed in two equal installments:
50% at the beginning of the recipient's first semester or quarter.
50% at the beginning of the second semester or quarter, contingent upon continued enrollment.
Judging Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on:
Creativity in choosing and building a side hustle.
Initiative throughout the process.
Potential impact of the business idea.
Responses to entrepreneurship questions.
Points Breakdown:
Creativity: 40 points
Initiative: 30 points
Potential impact: 30 points
The judging process is solely at the discretion of the ThriveNeighbor panel, and continuing a paid subscription after the free trial does not influence the chances of winning.
Winners Notification
Winners will be notified via email on February 1, 2025. Winners must respond within 14 days with proof of enrollment. Failure to respond will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship, and an alternate winner may be chosen.
Scholarship Management and Portal Access
Applicants can manage their scholarship tasks, including answering questions, within the dedicated scholarship section of the ThriveNeighbor portal. Portal access remains available even after canceling the free trial.
No Purchase Necessary
A free 7-day trial of ThriveNeighbor is required to apply. No charges will be incurred if the trial is canceled before the end of the period. Failure to cancel before the trial’s end will not affect scholarship eligibility, but any charges incurred are the responsibility of the applicant.
Disqualification Clause
ThriveNeighbor reserves the right to disqualify applicants who:
Submit incomplete or inaccurate information.
Fail to meet eligibility criteria.
Engage in unethical behavior (e.g., plagiarism or fraudulent data).
Violate scholarship terms or platform policies.
Disqualification decisions are final.
Fund Disbursement
Scholarship funds are non-transferable and must be used for tuition-related expenses only. If the recipient’s institution refuses the funds, ThriveNeighbor may, at its discretion, award them directly to the recipient for tuition purposes.
Reapplication Policy
Applicants may reapply in future scholarship cycles, provided they meet eligibility criteria. Past $5,000 winners cannot reapply, but past $1,000 recipients are eligible for future rounds.
Modification and Cancellation Clause
ThriveNeighbor reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship at any time. In case of cancellation, ThriveNeighbor holds no further obligations to any applicants.
Legal Jurisdiction and Governing Law
This scholarship and its terms are governed by the laws of Delaware. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of Delaware.
Limitations of Liability
ThriveNeighbor is not responsible for technical errors or submission issues beyond its control. Applicants must ensure submissions are complete before the deadline.
Publicity Release
By applying, applicants agree to allow ThriveNeighbor to use their name and application materials (e.g., essays, videos) for promotional purposes.
Parental Consent for Minors
Applicants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian provide consent for personal data collection.
Privacy and Non-Discrimination Policy
ThriveNeighbor complies with privacy laws such as CCPA and GDPR. Personal information is used solely for the scholarship process and retained for up to 3 years. ThriveNeighbor does not discriminate based on race, gender, or other protected characteristics.
Dispute Resolution
In case of disputes, applicants agree to binding arbitration governed by Delaware law.
